Book of Prayer
بَابٌ فِيمَنْ فَاتَتْهُ الْجُمُعَةُ 3172 عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ فَاتَتْهُ الْجُمُعَةُ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنْ يَصَّدَّقَ بِدِينَارٍ رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَقَالَ : لَا يُرْوَى عَنْ جَابِرٍ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَالْمَشْهُورُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ قُلْتُ : وَحَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ فِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ .

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أَلَا هَلْ عَسَى أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ الصُّبَّةَ مِنَ الْغَنَمِ عَلَى رَأْسِ مِيلَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةٍ تَأْتِي الْجُمُعَةُ فَلَا يَشْهَدُهَا - ثَلَاثًا - فَيَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَى قَلْبِهِ " رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَفِيهِ جَمَاعَةٌ لَمْ أَجِدْ مَنْ تَرْجَمَهُمْ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware! Soon it will happen that one of you will take a flock of sheep and go off to a distance of two or three miles; when Friday comes, he will not attend it; this will happen three times, and then Allah Almighty will place a seal upon his heart."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a group (of narrators) for whom I have not found anyone who has given an account of them.
