وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ فِي جُمُعَةٍ مِنَ الْجُمَعِ : " مُعَاشِرَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ؛ إِنَّ هَذَا يَوْمٌ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ عِيدًا فَاغْتَسِلُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالصَّغِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On one Friday the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O community of Muslims! Indeed this is a day which Allah Almighty has made a festival (Eid) for you, so take a ritual bath (ghusl), and using the tooth-stick (miswak) is a duty upon you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
