بَابٌ فِيمَنْ أَتَمَّ الصَّلَاةَ فِي السَّفَرِ .
One who prays the full prayer while travelling

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " خَيْرُ أُمَّتَيِ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَسَاؤُوا اسْتَغْفَرُوا ، وَإِذَا أَحْسَنُوا اسْتَبْشَرُوا ، وَإِذَا سَافَرُوا قَصَرُوا وَأَفْطَرُوا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best people of my Ummah are those who, if they commit a wrong, seek forgiveness; when they do a good deed, they receive glad tidings; and when they travel, they shorten the prayer and leave off fasting."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, about whom there has been criticism.
