بَابُ صَلَاةِ الْمَرِيضِ وَصَلَاةِ الْجَالِسِ .
The prayer of the sick and the prayer of one sitting
Majma al-Zawaid 2900 — The prayer of the sick and the prayer of one
وَعَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ : دَخَلَ عَلْقَمَةُ وَالْأَسْوَدُ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَا : إِنَّ أُمَّ الْأَسْوَدِ أُقْعِدَتْ وَأَنَّهُ يُرْكِزُ لَهَا عَوْدَ الْمِرْوَحَةِ تَسْجُدُ عَلَيْهِ فَمَا تَرَى ؟ قَالَ : إِنِّي لَأَرَى الشَّيْطَانَ يَعْرِضُ بِالْعُودِ ، لِتَسْجُدَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعَتْ وَإِلَّا تُومِئُ إِيمَاءً .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ النَّخَعِيُّ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ النَّخَعِيُّ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Ibrahim al-Nakha'i says: Alqamah and al-Aswad came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). They both said: "The mother of al-Aswad has been made to sit, and a piece of wood is placed for her on which she prostrates. What is your view about this?" Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I consider that Shaytan is behind this piece of wood. The woman should prostrate on the ground if she is able to; otherwise she should prostrate by gesturing."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; Ibrahim al-Nakha'i did not meet the time of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
