Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2784

It is reported about Abu al-Aswad and Shaddad bin al-Azma' that once they were with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). The narrator said: The two of them differed. Abu al-Aswad said that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say in his prostration: "Glory be to You, O Allah, there is no lord other than You," while Shaddad said that he used to say: "Glory be to You, there is no god other than You."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrators of Abu al-Aswad's narration are the narrators of the Sahih, while Shaddad was declared thiqah (trustworthy) by Ibn Hibban.
