Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst thief is the one who steals from his prayer." The people submitted, "O Messenger of Allah, how does he steal from his prayer?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He does not complete its ruku' (bowing) and its sujud (prostrations)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Hamid bin Habib bin Abi al-Ishrin, whom Imam Ahmad, Imam Abu Hatim and Imam Ibn Hibban (may Allah have mercy on them) declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Duhaym declared him da'if (weak). Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: He is not strong. The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
