عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ عَمَّرَ جَانِبَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْأَيْسَرَ لِقِلَّةِ أَهْلِهِ فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ بَقِيَّةُ وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ وَقَدْ عَنْعَنَهُ وَلَكِنَّهُ ثِقَةٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fills the left side of the mosque because few people are there will receive a double reward."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Baqiyyah, who is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain) and has narrated it with 'an'anah (using "from"), but he is thiqah (trustworthy).
