بَابُ صَلَاةِ الْمُتَيَمِّمِ بِالْمُتَوَضِّئِ .

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ : أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ أَصَابَتْهُ جَنَابَةٌ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُ الْجَيْشِ ، فَتَرَكَ الْغُسْلَ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : إِنِ اغْتَسَلْتُ مُتُّ مِنَ الْبَرْدِ فَصَلَّى بِمَنْ مَعَهُ جُنُبًا، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَرَّفَهُ مَا فَعَلَ فَأَنْبَأَهُ بِعُذْرِهِ، فَأَقَرَّهُ وَسَكَتَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ وَلَمْ أَجِدْ مَنْ ذَكَرَهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي التَّيَمُّمِ لِأَجْلِ الْبَرْدِ فِي قِصَّةِ عَمْرٍو أَيْضًا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ وَلَمْ أَجِدْ مَنْ ذَكَرَهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي التَّيَمُّمِ لِأَجْلِ الْبَرْدِ فِي قِصَّةِ عَمْرٍو أَيْضًا .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) entered a state of major impurity (janabah) while he was the commander of the army. He left off the ritual bath (ghusl), thinking: "If I bathe, I will die of the cold." So he led his companions in prayer while in a state of major impurity. When he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he informed him of what he had done and told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of his excuse, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) let it stand and remained silent.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman al-Ansari, who narrates it from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him), and I did not find anyone mentioning him; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). Before this, the hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) has already passed, which mentions performing tayammum because of the cold, and in it the incident of Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) is also mentioned.
