Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2290

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: None of you should ever offer prayer in a state where there is an open gap between him and the qiblah (that is, the wall on the side of the qiblah, or the sutrah).
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; the narrator Abu Ubaydah did not hear from his father.
