Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Before the mosque was built, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would offer prayer facing a wooden post. When the mosque was built, a mihrab was made for him, and he moved forward to it. Then the wooden post began to weep just as a camel weeps. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand on it, and it became calm.
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Muhaymin bin Abbas, who is da'if (weak).
