Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 223

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I recite the Qur'an, but I do not find my heart able to retain it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your heart is filled with faith, and faith is given to a servant before the Qur'an."
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah.
