Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2177

Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came from the outskirts of Madinah intending to offer the prayer. He found that the people had already prayed, so he went to his house, gathered his family and led them in prayer.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
