Sayyiduna Urwah al-Fuqaymi narrates: We were waiting for the Messenger of Allah (that is, we had not seen him before). A man came out, drops of water glistening on his head from ablution or perhaps a ritual bath, and he began to lead the prayer. When he had finished the prayer, the people began asking him: "O Messenger of Allah! Is there any sin upon us in such-and-such a case?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! The religion of Allah is in ease." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times. (Here a narrator named Yazid once transmitted these words:) The people began saying: "O Messenger of Allah! What do you (peace and blessings be upon him) say about such-and-such a case? What do you (peace and blessings be upon him) say about such-and-such a case? What do you (peace and blessings be upon him) say about such-and-such a case?"
Imam Ahmad recorded it, as did Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and Imam Abu Ya'la. Its chain contains a narrator, Asim bin Hilal, whom Abu Hatim and Imam Abu Dawud declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Imam al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) and others declared him da'if (weak). No one besides this Asim narrated from the narrator named Ghadirah; Imam al-Mizzi mentioned him in this way.
