Abu Salamah bin Abd al-Rahman says that he heard Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying: We heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say in his last sermon: "Whoever keeps regularly offering these five obligatory prayers in congregation will be among the first to cross over the Sirat, who will pass like gleaming lightning; Allah Almighty will raise him in the first group of the followers; and the one who guards these (prayers) will receive, in every day and night, a reward like that of a thousand martyrs who were slain in the path of Allah Almighty."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Baqiyyah bin al-Walid, who is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain), and he has transmitted this report with 'an'anah (using the word "from").
