Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2120

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The men and women of the Children of Israel used to pray together, and when a woman had a lover, she would wear high-heeled shoes to make herself look tall for her lover. So Allah Almighty imposed menstruation upon those women. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Put these women out, just as Allah Almighty has put them out. The narrator says: I asked the narrator Abu Bakr: What is meant by "qalibayn"? He replied: Shoes made of wood.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
