Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 2118

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Women are something to be covered ('awrah). When a woman goes out of her house while there is nothing wrong with her, Satan peers at her and says: Whoever you pass by, you will please him. And when a woman puts on fine clothes and she is asked: Where do you want to go? she says: I want to visit a sick person, or attend a funeral, or pray in the mosque. Yet no woman worships her Lord in any way like the worship she can do in her own house.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
