Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1997

Sayyiduna Bashir al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of being a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats this foul vegetable must not come near our mosques." (The narrator says:) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant garlic.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain is hasan (good).
