Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 192

Sayyiduna Amr bin al-Hamiq (may Allah be pleased with him) states that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A servant does not become deserving of the reality of faith until he becomes angry for the sake of Allah Almighty and is pleased for the sake of Allah Almighty. When he does that, he becomes deserving of the reality of faith. (Allah Almighty says in a Hadith Qudsi:) 'My beloved servants and My friends are those who are mentioned along with My mention, and I am mentioned along with their mention.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Rishdin bin Sa'd, whom most scholars declared da'if (weak).
