Abdullah bin al-Harith relates that his father said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the mu'adhdhin, he would say words like those he said. When he said "Hayya 'ala al-salah (Come to prayer)" and "Hayya 'ala al-falah (Come to success)," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no might and no power except through Allah)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Asim bin Ubaydullah, who is da'if (weak); however, Imam Malik narrated from him.
