Book of the People of Paradise
بَابٌ فِي كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّةِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
The great number of the Ummah of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) who will enter Paradise

عَنْ جَابِرٍ : أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ مَنْ تَبِعَنِي مِنْ أُمَّتِي [ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ] رُبْعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " . قَالَ : فَكَبَّرْنَا . ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ النَّاسِ " . قَالَ : فَكَبَّرْنَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونُوا الشَّطْرَ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُ الْبَزَّارِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَكَذَلِكَ أَحَدُ إِسْنَادَيْ أَحْمَدَ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) states that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "I hope that those of my Ummah who follow me will be a quarter of the people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection." The narrator says: So we said the takbir. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I hope that they will be a third of the people (that is, of the people of Paradise)." The narrator says: So we said the takbir. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I hope that they (that is, the members of my Ummah) will be half (of the people of Paradise)."
Ahmad, al-Bazzar, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it. The narrators of al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih, and likewise the narrators of one of Ahmad's two chains.
