Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1867

Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) relates about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he heard the mu'adhdhin, he would say words like those the mu'adhdhin said, until, when he said "Hayya 'ala al-salah (Come to prayer)" and "Hayya 'ala al-falah (Come to success)," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "Nothing can happen except by the help of Allah Almighty and the strength He grants."
Imam Ahmad, Imam al-Bazzar and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded this narration. Its chain contains a narrator, Asim bin Ubaydullah, who is da'if (weak); however, Imam Malik narrated from him.
