Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18371

Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(On the Day of Resurrection) the feet of a servant will not move from their place until he is called to account about four things: about his body, in what he wore it out; about his life, in what he spent it; about his wealth, how he earned it and where he spent it; and about love for us, the Ahl al-Bayt (he will be called to account)." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is the sign of love for you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand on the shoulder of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Tirmidhi has also recorded it, but he did not report these words and the part after them: "about love for us, the Ahl al-Bayt." He reported the fourth thing as: "He will be called to account about his knowledge, how much he acted upon it." The chain of Tabarani contains al-Harith bin Muhammad al-Kufi, who is called al-Ma'kuf; the author of "al-Mizan" said: He reported a false narration. The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
