وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ : وَدِدْتُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَعْطَانَا النِّدَاءَ . قُلْتُ : لِمَ ؟ قَالَ : لِأَنَّهُمْ أَطْوَلُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ أَعْنَاقًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I wished that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had entrusted the duty of calling the adhan to us. The narrator says: I asked: "Why is that?" He said: "Because on the Day of Resurrection their necks will be the longest among the people of Paradise."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Kabir and al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Yahya bin Urwah, and he is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
