Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18312

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَتَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ ، وَالرَّجُلَانِ ثَوْبُهُمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَا يَطْوِيَانِهِ ، وَلَا يَتَبَايَعَانِهِ ، وَلَتَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَالرَّجُلُ قَدْ رَفَعَ لُقْمَتَهُ إِلَى فِيهِ لَا يَطْعَمُهَا ، وَلَتَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ وَالرَّجُلُ يَلِطُ حَوْضَهُ فَلَا يَسْقِي مِنْهُ " . قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ خَلَا قَوْلَهُ : " وَالرَّجُلُ قَدْ رَفَعَ لُقْمَتَهُ لَا يَطْعَمُهَا " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will be established while two men have a cloth between them which they will not be able to fold up nor complete the sale of; the Hour will be established while a man has raised his morsel to his mouth but will not be able to eat it; and the Hour will be established while a man is plastering his water-trough with mud but will not be able to draw water from it." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is mentioned in the "Sahih", but it does not contain these words: "A man will have raised his morsel but will not be able to eat it."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
