Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18279

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Yazid al-Khatmi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you in a better state today, or will you be at the time when one bowl will be brought to one of you in the morning and another in the evening, one garment will be brought in the morning and another in the evening, and you will hang curtains over your houses just as cloth is hung over the Ka'bah? A man said: O Messenger of Allah! We will be in a better state at that time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (No!) Rather, you are in a better state today."
Al-Tabarani recorded this narration, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Abu Ja'far al-Khatmi, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
