بَابٌ فِيمَنِ اقْشَعَرَّ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ .

عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِذَا اقْشَعَرَّ جِلْدُ الْعَبْدِ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ ; تَحَاتَّتْ عَنْهُ خَطَايَاهُ كَمَا تَحَاتُّ عَنِ الشَّجَرَةِ الْبَالِيَةِ وَرَقُهَا " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ أُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتُ الْعَبَّاسِ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهَا ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the skin of a servant shivers out of fear of Allah Almighty, his sins fall away from him just as leaves fall from a withered tree."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a woman, Umm Kulthum bint al-Abbas, whom I do not know. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
