Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18191

Adasah al-Ta'i relates: I was at "Sharaf" when Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came and stayed with us. My family sent me to him with some things. Some of our slave boys, who used to be out with our camels (far from habitation), brought birds from a distance of four days' journey. When I took the meat of those birds to him, he asked me: "Where have you brought these birds to me from?" I said: "We have some slave boys who are out with our camels; they brought it from a distance of four days' journey." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I wish I were in the place where this bird was hunted (that is, a place four days' journey from habitation), where I would not speak to anyone about anything and no one would speak to me, until I came into the presence of Allah Almighty."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Adasah al-Ta'i, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
