Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18178

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "Give me some advice!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave gossip (qila wa qala), excessive questioning and wasting wealth."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains al-Sari bin Isma'il, and he is matruk (abandoned).
