عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " طَلَبُ الْحَلَالِ فَرِيضَةٌ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبَّادُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Seeking the lawful (halal) is an obligation after the obligation."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abbad bin Kathir al-Thaqafi, who is matruk (abandoned).
