Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were travelling with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at night. In the last part of the night the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had us halt to rest (and we fell asleep). When we woke up, the sun had already risen. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Move on, move on!" So we moved on until, when the sun was at the middle of the sky, he dismounted. He commanded Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and he called the adhan. Each one of us offered two rak'ahs (that is, the sunnah), then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in prayer. We said: "O Messenger of Allah! Should we repeat it tomorrow at its proper time?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has forbidden us usury (riba); would He then accept it (usury) from us?"
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud recorded it in abridged form. Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Kathir bin Yahya, and he is da'if (weak).
