بَابٌ فِيمَنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِيهِ تَقْوَى تَحْجِزُهُ عَنِ الْمَحَارِمِ .

عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِيهِ وَاحِدَةٌ مِنْ ثَلَاثٍ فَلَا يَعْتَدُّ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عَمَلٍ : تَقْوَى تَحْجِزُهُ عَنَ الْمَحَارِمِ ، أَوْ حِلْمٍ يَكُفُّ بِهِ السَّفِيهَ ، أَوْ خُلُقٌ يَعِيشُ بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ ، قَالَ : أَبُو حَاتِمٍ يَكْتُبُ حَدِيثَهُ ، وَلَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever does not have one of three things should not count anything of his deeds: piety that keeps him from committing forbidden things, forbearance with which he can face a foolish person, or character with which he can live among people."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Muslim bin Hurmuz. Abu Hatim says: His hadith is to be written down, but he is not strong. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
