Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18030

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A person will receive the reward of that for which he hoped for reward, and the burden of the (sin) he earned will be upon him; a person will be with the one he loves; and whoever dies on the straight path will be counted among its people." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The author of "al-Nihayah" stated: "Dhunaba al-tariq" means the middle (that is, straight) path, and it is the root of "dhanab".
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat in abridged form; its chain contains a narrator, Amr bin Bakr al-Saksaki, and he is da'if (weak).
