وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : مِنْ أَفْرَسِ النَّاسِ ثَلَاثَةٌ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ إِنْ كَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ هُوَ الْعَبْدِيَّ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ هُوَ الثَّقَفِيَّ ، فَقَدْ وُثِّقَ عَلَى ضَعْفٍ كَثِيرٍ فِيهِ .
In one narration the words are: "Among the people of greatest insight are three."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih if Muhammad bin Kathir means al-Abdi; and if he is al-Thaqafi, then he has been declared trustworthy despite the great weakness found in him.
