Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The most wretched of people will be the one upon whom the poverty of this world and the punishment of the Hereafter are combined."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with two chains. One of the two chains contains a narrator, Khalid bin Yazid bin Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Malik, whom Imam Abu Zur'ah declared trustworthy while the majority declared him da'if (weak); the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy). The other chain contains a narrator, Ahmad bin Tahir bin Harmalah, and he is a kadhdhab (liar).
