وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا ذِئْبَانِ ضَارِيَانِ جَائِعَانِ بَاتَا فِي زَرِيبَةِ غَنَمٍ أَغْفَلَهَا أَهْلُهَا ، يَفْتَرِسَانِ وَيَأْكُلَانِ بِأَسْرَعَ فَسَادًا فِيهَا مِنْ حُبِّ الْمَالِ ، وَالشَّرَفِ فِي دِينِ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If two ravenous, hungry wolves spent the night in a sheepfold whose owners were heedless of it, tearing and devouring, they would not cause ruin as quickly (as) the love of wealth and honour (ruins) the religion of a Muslim."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is jayyid (good).
