عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ ، الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفُكُمْ فِيهَا فَيَنْظُرُ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ ، أَلَّا فَاتَّقُوا الدُّنْيَا ، وَاتَّقُوا النِّسَاءَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ صَالِحُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْقَسْمَلِيُّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِ أَحَدِ أَسَانِيدِهِ وُثِّقُوا .
Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abd al-Rahman! The world is sweet and green, and Allah Almighty has made you His vicegerents in it, so that He may make manifest how you act. Beware! Guard yourselves against the world, and guard yourselves against women."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Salih bin Shu'ayb al-Qasmali, and the rest of the narrators of one of its chains have been declared trustworthy.
