Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17767

Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a funeral bier was brought, and then another bier was brought. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Has he left any debt?" (That is, a debt which he was obliged to pay.) The people replied: "No!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Has he left anything?" The people replied: "Yes! There are three dinars." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his fingers, indicating that these are three brands (of fire).
Ahmad recorded it within a long hadith, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
