Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man from the People of the Suffah passed away, and he left behind two dinars (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) two dirhams. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These are two brands (of fire). Offer the funeral prayer for your companion."
Ahmad and his son Abdullah recorded it, and he narrated the words: "A dinar or perhaps a dirham." Bazzar also recorded it in the same way. Its chain contains Utaybah al-Darir, who is majhul (unknown), and the remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy.
