Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17724

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Qays Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in prayer, then he said: "Stay in your places!" Then he came to the men and said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has commanded me to command you to fear Allah Almighty and to speak words that are upright." Then he went to the women and said to them: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has commanded me to instruct you to fear Allah and to speak words that are upright." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: After this he mentioned the complete narration.
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, but he recorded these words: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the women: "Fear Allah Almighty, and speak words that are upright" (that is, the Arabic wording differs but the meaning is the same). Its chain contains Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is a mudallis (one who obscures his sources), and the rest of Ahmad's narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
