Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17683

Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "In Hell there is a valley called 'Habhab'; it is binding upon Allah Almighty that He lodge every arrogant one in it."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Azhar bin Sinan, who has been declared trustworthy despite his weakness. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Many hadiths condemning arrogance have already passed in the Book of Faith, in the chapter on the major sins, and in the Book of Adornment.
