وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " قُلْتُ : يَا جِبْرِيلُ ، أَيُصَلِّي رَبُّكَ - جَلَّ ذِكْرُهُ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّهُ - ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ . قُلْتُ : مَا صَلَاتُهُ ؟ قَالَ : سُبُّوحٌ قُدُّوسٌ ، سَبَقَتْ رَحْمَتِي غَضَبِي " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ وُثِّقُوا .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I asked: 'O Jibril! Does your Lord pray (salah), He whose remembrance is majestic and whose grandeur is exalted?' Jibril replied: 'Yes!' I asked: 'What is His prayer?' Jibril replied: 'Glorified, free of every defect; Most Holy; My mercy has preceded My wrath.'"
At-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
