Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Two men from Bali, a branch of the Quda'ah tribe, accepted Islam at the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One of them attained martyrdom, and the other lived on for a year after him, then (he too passed away). Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw Paradise in a dream, and saw that the one of the two who had died later was admitted into Paradise before the martyr. I was amazed at this. The next morning I mentioned it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) it was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Did he (the one who died later) not fast Ramadan after him (the one martyred first), and pray six thousand rak'ahs, and such-and-such a number of sunnah rak'ahs?"
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This report is transmitted from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), as you see, and in it is mentioned that Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a dream. A hadith transmitted by Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) has been recorded by Ibn Majah.
Ahmad recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
