Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while supplicating on the pulpit or elsewhere, with both hands raised up; while making this supplication he (peace and blessings be upon him) would keep both hands level with his shoulders and would point with his fingers.
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains Abd al-Rahman bin Ishaq al-Zuraqi al-Madani, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Imam Malik and the majority of the imams declared him da'if (weak); the remaining narrators of this report are 'thiqat' (trustworthy).
