Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on the pulpit when he (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times: Amin. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about this, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril came to me and said: 'The one before whom you are mentioned and who does not send blessings upon you, may Allah Almighty distance him. Say Amin.' So I said: Amin! Jibril said: 'Whoever reaches his parents, or one of them, and then dies in a state in which he has not been forgiven, may Allah Almighty distance him. Say: Amin.' So I said: Amin! 'And whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and is then not forgiven, may Allah Almighty distance him. Say: Amin.' So I said: Amin!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Yazid bin Abi Ziyad, about whom there is disagreement, and the remaining narrators of this report are 'thiqat' (trustworthy).
