Book of Supplications
بَابٌ فِيمَا يُسْتَفْتَحُ بِهِ الدُّعَاءُ مِنْ حُسْنِ الثَّنَاءِ عَلَى اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ ، وَالصَّلَاةِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
Opening supplication with good praise of Allah and with blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

وَعَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " أَلِظُّوا بَيَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Rabi'ah bin Amir bin Bijad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Keep reciting 'Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram' (O Possessor of Majesty and Honour)!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Yahya bin Abd al-Hamid al-Himmani, who is da'if (weak).
