Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever intends a good deed and does not act on it, one good deed is recorded for him; and if he acts on it (i.e. on his intention), from ten times its like up to seven hundred and seven times are recorded for him. And whoever intends an evil deed and does not act on it, it is not recorded against him; and if he acts on it, one evil deed is recorded against him, and (sometimes) Allah Almighty wipes even that out."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
