Awn bin Abdullah narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to seek refuge from four things, reciting:
'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ghinan yutghini, wa min faqrin yunsini, wa min hawan yurdini, wa min 'amalin yukhzini'
(O Allah, I seek refuge with You from wealth that makes me rebellious, from poverty that makes me forgetful, from desire that turns me back, and from deeds that disgrace me.)
Tabarani recorded it; the narrator Awn did not hear from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and Abd al-Rahman al-Mas'udi, although thiqah (trustworthy), suffered from ikhtilat (deterioration of memory).
A marfu' report from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), more complete than this one, has already passed in the section on supplication after the prayers, and it is da'if (weak).
