وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ ، وَالْهَرَمِ ، وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ قَابُوسُ بْنُ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ ، وَفِيهِ خِلَافٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَرَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say (i.e. used to make this supplication):
'Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kasal, wal-haram, wa fitnatis-sadr, wa 'adhabil-qabr'
(O Allah, I seek refuge with You from laziness, old age, the trial of the chest, and the punishment of the grave.)
Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Qabus bin Abi Zabyan, who has been declared trustworthy, though there is disagreement about him, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
Al-Bazzar also recorded it.
