بَابُ كَفَّارَةِ الْمَجْلِسِ .

Majma al-Zawaid 17161 — Expiation for a gathering
وَعَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لَا يَقُومُ مِنْ مَجْلِسٍ حَتَّى يَقُولَ : " سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ " . ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّهَا كَفَّارَةٌ لِمَا يَكُونُ فِي الْمَجْلِسِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الثَّلَاثَةِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not get up from a gathering until he had recited: 'Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk'
(Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise is Yours; I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance).
Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "This is an expiation for whatever happens in the gathering."
Tabarani recorded it in all three of his books, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
