Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17091

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to travel, when he rose from his sitting (that is, to set off), he would recite:
'Allahumma bika intashartu, wa ilayka tawajjahtu, wa bika i'tasamtu. Allahumma anta thiqati, wa anta raja'i. Allahumma ikfini ma ahammani wa ma la ahtammu bih, wa ma anta a'lamu bihi minni, wa zawwidnit-taqwa, waghfir li dhanbi, wa wajjihni lil-khayri haythuma tawajjahtu' (O Allah, with Your help I set out, to You I have turned, and Your help I seek. O Allah, You are my trust and You are my hope. O Allah, suffice me in the things that concern me and in those that do not concern me, and in what You know better than I do. Grant me piety (taqwa) as provision for the journey, forgive my sin, and direct me towards good, in whatever direction I turn.)
The narrator says: After that he would set off.
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains Umar bin Musawir, who is da'if (weak).
